Re: New winter projects.
Hello gents,

I picked up my rear light last night (didn't know the post office was open till 6pm) :) So I got out and managed to do some more work to the bike. I got the black braid on the cables from the frame to the headlight,(that was a bit of a struggle), but it does look so much better :D The rear light is still work in progress, i'm still not entirely happy with the look, I'll post some pictures tonight (camera needs charging!!)

Blue, Yes I have been quite lucky, I have managed to get a lot done, and up until now my work has been fairly easy. As I said before I've now changed jobs and I seem to be traveling around the country an awful lot more making me knackered when I get home :? :? What with that and the weather, I was hoping that with the new "Lardy Dax" it would float on water  All that work you're doing Blue, you must be as rich as Tufty by now, he gets his butler to clean his bikes. :D :D

I will of course be attending the great Ace Cafe Monkey bike run again this year, hopefully would like to see loads more people down there, I know Baldy MD will be going again!!! If it is as hot this year as it was last, I think I'd need to wear my mankini  ................. O.K, O.K I promise won't.

It would be nice though to try and get together at least once this year. Between us regulars we must have about 20 bikes, that would look great at any show, It doesn't matter about the condition, the more varied the better ;)

Anyway I've got to go to work now, speak to you all later.

All the best Si

Hi All,
Be good to see more of you at the shows, the Ace Cafe being at the pinnacle of all of them :D I know that Tufty will be looking to organise another show this year, thats always a nice one, with a little ride out to a little country watering hole! I'll be organising the "Battlesbridge" show again, thats always a good turn out with loads to see and do, including auto jumbles and other interesting stuff.

Lets hope that we all make an effort this year and turn up for at least one event! :)

If there are any shows or events near you and you need some support, let the site know, I'm sure we will be willing and able to help.

What date is Battlesbride Shorrocks? I remember working out a routee to it last year but cant recall why I couldnt make it? Think we need to arrange a meet up somewhere or at least a few meets at shows.

Hello pimp63,

Not to sure as to the date yet, but as soon as I know I'll make you all aware ;)

Episode 12, of the SHorrocks show!

Got out and had a little fettle with my rear end (ooh missis!!!) :D :D Still not 100% sure, but for the time being it will be o.k until I decide what to do next. I covered the wires from the indicators and rear brake lights in 6mm rubber tubing so as to keep it tidy and make it look a bit "beefy" as well. The tail light are extremely bright LED's and perfect for the look I want. Rear end 3.JPGRear end 2.JPGRear end 1.JPG Finally wrestled with the Black braided plastic, it wasn't easy, but I think it now looks better than just a bit of tape/tubing. Black platsic braid 1.JPG

The electrics are coming on slowly but surely, I'm having to test and solder everything, so its all taking a bit of time :? :? Electrics.JPG The Stainless steel braided throttle and brake cable are now in situ, and again look so much better. Just the clutch and speedo cable to get now. Hi all,
Hope you're all still with us what with the weather an all, :? :? although today has been lovely and I got out again on the orange peril 8-)

Been out in my paddling pool of a garage for a few hours, but to be honest, its so bloody bleak out there, i'd much rather be indoors at the mo ;) and i'm trying to tackle the electrics, the job I hate the most :?: I was thinking of using a guy called "Ferret Electricary". apparently he's the bees knees and he comes round to your shed or garage to sort out any wiring problems. Has anybody had any dealings with this guy or heard anything about him?

Anyway, I have a question. my Chinese copy Dax seat has two posts attached underneath, one for the locking mechanism and the other to locate in the hole on the other side.
My question is this what, if anything goes in the hole on the other side, is there a rubber bung or bush or is it left as is. Please see photos, I've arrowed the areas of concern.

I'm not too familiar with the Chinese frames, but isn't that the place for the helmet holder?
Or is that a combined seat / helmet lock on the left side?

Hello Waynus,

No I'm not to familiar either. But the lock on the right hand side, is for the seat only and no helmet lock. Its baffling me because i'm sure that something should go in the hole arrowed.

I know we're all purists but if anyone has a photo or an explanation I would be very greatfull ;)

All the best Si
