Hello Blue,

Awh.............. your such a purist. I know it's not the real Macoy, but this is an exercise in pure self indulgence, regardless of make................Please forgive me :?

Just a quick update, got my calipers painted and refitted, and I must say they are looking mighty fine. I am trialing this "ABS" valve that was given to me by Dave of Eat my dirt. Haven't got a clue what it's going to be like, but I said I would give it a go. Again watch this space.

There are two complete different versions of the Daytona engine.
Chinese and Japanese.
In my opinion, they are great value for money but the looks don't match my idea for a restored Honda. (Neither does the Honda Nice)
They are great for pitbike racing etc.
The Japanese versions are very well built (but very expensie as well) but can easily compete with high end Takegawa / Kitaco versions.
I prefer to mix and match pieces rather than ountin a pre-built engine ;)
If I were on the look for an engine, I'd go with a tuned CD90.

Hi all,
Long time, no speak :? Due to my new job, things have been going very slowly at the "Lardy Dax" camp. I've managed to put on my new brake and clutch levers, got my new throttle assembly and braided cable, and got the front brake hose made up. Finally got the headlight bowl back from the powder-coaters so now I can do the job I really don't like doing................the electrics. Rear brake lever.JPGLH Switch.JPGLHS.JPG I actually got out on my Orange bike today, it was nice and dry for once. When I got home, I gave both my Orange and old Lady Dax, a jet wash and spruce up. It's amazing what a bit of sun can do.

I like the orange one. loving the colour.

I was stuck in North London all weekend on callout duty, but was thinking ' if I was at home I could be fiddling with my ST'' ,it was almost Spring like in the sun and out of the wind.

Re: New winter projects.
Just a quick update,
I've ordered my new rear stop and tail light, and hopefully it will be with me today :D :D. That means i'll be able to finish off the rear end, it's only taken me a month to decide what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As soon as it's on, i'll get back with a few more photos, although by the looks of things, nobody seems to be watching anything on this site anyway. Oh well I'll keep my end up and persevere ;) ;)

All the best Si

Thanks Waynus,
I know I can always rely on your support. ;) I got home early today hoping to catch the postman, and my new rear light, only to find i'd missed him. In its place is a "Tried to deliver" note.. I've now got to wait 24 hours before I can pick the bloody thing up!!!! I did manage to have posted the black braided over sleeve for the main wiring, from the frame to the headlight. I did want stainless steel over braid but at £24 for one meter, and I only need 12", I thought was a bit steep. I'll try and wrestle with the braid later tonight and hopefully it should look much better than just tape. Be in touch soon.

Hi Simon,
We are all still here and reading with interest.
Personally, I've always been jealous how much time you seem to be able to spend on your bike.
Hopefully your new job won't push you into the restricted progress situation I seem to be in and or slow you down too much.

I've just got in from work, been out since 7am this morning! And it's been 10 days since I've had a day off.
This somewhat hinders me more than you would expect, no time to make calls, pick up bits and talk to suppliers.
Worst thing is I tend to forget what I was doing and needed to do next.
Also this makes it harder, as what I decide to do one day, on reflection seems like not such a good idea.
I then change my mind and this delays progress.
Guess that's why I have bits I don't need or won't use as I've changed my mind.

I'm determined to right this, get one bike done this year ready for the Ace cafe London run in July.
Who's up for it?
