That headlight bracket allows you to fit a basket on the front of your CF and is the Japanese or late euro front light.

Looking at the bits in the garage has bugged me enough to get back down to doing up the old gal, so spent most of today pulling the wheels apart, rusted solid. even the tyres had rusted to the rims. So once I got them apart I hit them with Paint Stripper, then wire wool, then grinding wheel in a drill, followed by more wire wool, then glass sanding disks, and a coat of Jenolite, and finally looking better (pics to follow). Now painting the inside with Black Hamerite (outside will be silver, just that black is more rust resistive).

Phill did you get my message about your wiring.

Yea know that feeling, I find I either go hell for leather, or nothing at all.
My main project (CD175) is coming along fine, then the damn compressor gave up the ghost, so I switched back to the Chaly for a while.

WE have wheels

Placed an order on-line with http://www.nationalbiketyres.co.uk for two tyres and two tubes (I wanted and ordered a pair of Pirreli's) got a telephone call minutes after paying on-line to tell me the system should not have allowed me to order as they are out of stock, BUT as a gesture of goodwill would I accept same size, same pattern Sava's (£2 more each), at no extra cost, and the tubes free, RESULT. 8am this morning they arrived, fantastic service.

OK, wheels done, complete with new tubes and tyres, and whilst I was doing them, new cush rubbers and a new rear Sprocket (and chain and front sprocket, care of Wemoto).

OK first the easy bit for Phil if he ever gets on here again

Connections to the ignition switch

AND THATS WHERE I STOPPED....................................................................................

WHY ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????/?

Because I know I can do better, a bit of self knocking here, I stripped do down the Chaly a long time ago, and since then have rebuilt many other bikes, and have done better
jobs on them than I have on the Chaly....

ie on my current CD175 project,

Another reason is my hatred of acrylic paint, having sprayed a few bikes now over the last few years, even coating them in clearcoat (rattle cans), they still scratch if you fart near them. When I painted the CD175 I tried (after being persuaded by my local mechanics) to give 2K (2 part) paint a go, and will never go back. Its as hard as nail once if cures (I know I've tried to sand off some of my earlier attempts where the paint has run, WOW). So guess what ?

Yep, you guessed, BACK TO SQUARE ONE (there you go Phil, now you can get ahead), and a few hours later

And where back to the bare metal again.....

Now just got to choose colour and order 2k, still I will prime her tomorrow, Halfrauds grey primer (ok its acrylic) is pretty good, sands real easy, and 2K bonds to it fantastic.

Hi Graham
Dont know if you have received any mail off me, but I have replyed to your posts, thanks for the wiring pics, I had a mini mooch in the garage the other night & I seem to think that I have got the timing wrong hence non-starting. I have replaced the head & barrel on the project bike & have come to the conclusion that I have the timing 180 deg out(?).
This is the 1st four stroke I have worked on for many many years hence the possible gaff  give me a two stroke anyday...... only kidding you four stroke nuts.
A mate of mine is coming over to take the piss out of my work, sorry correct my bad spannering, so we'll see what I have done wrong.
Thanks again for the photies

Just a thought, but if your going to shoot 2k topcoat why dont you use the correct 2k primer as well?
It'll be a darn site better than a halfords rattle can!
Even go the whole hog and etch prime the bare steel seeing you've gone to the trouble to strip it.
