Seat Restoration
With the prices so high for decent replacdment seats I was wondering if any of you had had a go at restoring your own. My seat is completely had it so whatever I do it cant really get any worse.

Re: Seat Restoration
Mine was pretty bad but I restored it to a decent standard I think. A fair amount of work to do mind, but as you say, they are not cheap to replace.
Here's a few pictures of various stages of restoration :- IMG_1508 (640x480).jpg IMG_1513 (640x480).jpg IMG_1516 (640x480).jpg IMG_1521 (640x480).jpg IMG_1519 (640x480).jpg IMG_1534 (640x480).jpg IMG_1566 (640x480).jpg

Thanks Guys.
Learnt to braze at 17 as an app. welder making bicycle frames, once a skill is learned its never lost.
(its the cost of the rods nowadays I find the most difficult!!!!)

Thanks for the comments White and Blue

Blue - not sure if you were being serious about sorting your seat, but I might be able to help you with it ?

I have a passion for these great little fun bikes, having ridden many, many different bikes over many, many years

I can honestly say that none get as favourable a reaction as these do, they just seem to put a smile on peoples faces :D .

So, if I can help put more back into use and on the roads with help or advice, or even a bit of restoration work, I'd happily do

so. Cheers,
Dave
