It will be well worth the waiting!

About the schocks: they weren't filled with oil originally.
Maybe a good shot of WD-40 could loosen them up again?

Good shout re: WD-40
I will give that a try.

So looking forward to getting the bike back together. Do you think I should get a load of photos of the rebuild?

Sure you should!
For us to comment them :D and especially a special memory for yourself when you're old and nostalgic!

Or... When you decide to sell it, to proove you have redone the bike completely.

Update

8-)

Wheels are assembled already and I have nearly every part I need so rebuild will start soon. Was hoping to work on the bike all day tomorrow but I am going to the football with my mate now so will have to start most of the work on Tuesday!

Hi James
The parts look good wait until the stickers go on it will look stunning, you are now on the fun part and also at times the most frustrating but it will be all worth it in the long run, please keep a photo record at all stages as it makes it more valuable when you look back but also as an historic document if you should ever wish to part with it.

James,
that's looking soooo nice!!! 8-)

I'm sure you're happy now you made the decision on getting the frame done as well, aren't you?
Now put it together clean and nice!

ag6, if I remember correctly, the bike was owned by James family for several decades, waiting to get restored by James :D

Tufty - Can't wait to get stickers on the bike but will do that last so I don't damage them. I will definitely take photos along the way!

eg6 - The bike was bought new from Honda in 1975 by my uncle who gave me the bike years ago. He signed it over legally in 2004-2005. I used the bike that summer although it was a bit tatty, after a few runs I left it covered over outside and decided to start work on it again last summer. With work being so busy it wasn't until Feb 2009 that I started the restoration. Hopefully going to have it back on the road by the end of May!

Waynus - Really happy with the frame, just wish I got it done earlier  They have made a brilliant job with it and it looks fantastic in the flesh. Already got the condenser, brake light switch, ignition, seat latch, rear mudguard and number plate holder installed.
Been at Thorpe Park all day today (amusement park near London) so haven't had chance to do any work on it although tomorrow I am going to install the front forks and finish cleaning up the rear shocks. Hoping to have a rolling chassis by the end of the week (providing my front fork seals arrive in time)!

Thankyou for the reply, it looks like it is going to be a lovely bike when finished, i am currently looking for a lady dax at the moment, one to restore myself, but not having much luck in finding one which is for the right price for the condition!

All the best with your bike and if you know anyone who has one for sale please let me know!!

Look forward to seeing the finished photos.

Alex
