Hello all,
I cant believe that only me and Blue are the only ones doing anything :( :( :( :( :(

Oh well here we go again. Just thought I'd share with you my solution to lost seat rubbers, you know the ones that press into the top of the frame either side of the seat catch. (normally on the 6v models) My solution.................bicycle rubber brake blocks ;) ;) Again personally these seem to fit better than the original rubbers and are more securely fastened by means of a 10mm dome nut. The photo's best show this.
Seat rubbers 1.JPGSeat rubbers 2.JPG They are the perfect height, and are made of a dense rubber, so little or no vibration :D :D and at only £3.99 a pair from Halfords, I think they tick all the boxes ;)

As you can see this is not a purists bike, but hell........................................... I'm not pure

Catch you soon

I've mounted the Michelins tires on the ST70 this morning, new gascable.....
Also a Original CT70 Skidplate... ;)
Realy I would have wanted the Original 4.00 Bridgestone off-road ones but they are ever so expensif....

@ SHORROCKS: Do you like the skyteam SE gas-suspension? Do you feel a difference?

Hello White,

I've fitted adjustable shocks to my bike, because with the extra engine capacity, and longer rear swing arm, I find that this for me was quite a

good set up. Not too soft and not too hard. :D :D The original shocks can be very soft and wobbly :(

Cheers

Hello Peeps,

Me again...................... Tried to fit the rear disc brake conversion kit today :( :( :( ............I knew it was going to be a bummer!!!

First the easy part, I changed over the rear hub to accept the new disk assembley, no probs there.

Put the wheel back in and shimmed it accordingly, all pretty straight forward.

Next fit the remote brake cylinder, with brackets provided............Not that straight forward, bracket hole on one side needs drilling out to fit on the upper engine mount bolt. That done, fit the disc caliper, again a bit of a pain, but it went on..................Oh but wait a mo.......the wheel won't spin round freely because the inner tube valve (an angled type one) seems to foul on the caliper, What an arse

I've now got to strip down the wheel and change the inner tube to a straight type valve. :x :x

Then i've got to try and figure out how to depress the cylinder with the original rear foot brake.

Heres a few photos to be getting on with.

See you soon

After a year and half I finally managed to purchase the 6v Klaxon for my French Dax. Dam things are so hard to find unless of course you are lucky enough to live in France or Belgium. Now the hunt is on for the bracket it bolts to.

Or you could take off the tire and switch the position of the rims?

Hello Waynus,

That would be to easy................or would it. :( :( The wheels are aluminium so taking them of would be a pain without distorting them, and the tyres are directional, so they can only go on one way :? :?

Got a new inner tube (straight valve type) popped it in and Bobs your uncle. Now it misses the caliper and looks better as well :D :D

Still having a little problem with the brake arm linkage, think I need to make a small bracket.......I'll get some photo's up later.

All the best Si
