Certificate of Conformity, V55/5 & manufacture date.
Hi All

I'm currently trying to get my ST 70 Lady Dax on the road so am going through the process of filling in my V765 and V55/5. Was hoping for a bit of advice with details for the V55/5 and some help confirming its age.

Its Reg plate is KGJ 84N which as far as i can confirm from wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_re ... 0s_to_1982 dates it '71 - '72. The Chassis Num is ST70 - 148055 and the Engine Num is ST70E - 140634. Does this tally with the Reg and does anyone either know, or know where i can find out, its year of manufacture?

Finally. The V55/5 asks for a whole load of technical details about the bike that I just don't know. The helper sheet says that all of this information should be on the bikes Certificate of Conformity. Does anyone know where I can get hold of one of these for a ST70 from (best guess at the minute) 1972?

Super thanks in advance.

Err why do you need to find its year of manufacture if you have the registration plate?
Just apply for the log book.

Or am I missing something?

I called the DVLA who informed me that the registration number had fallen through the gaps of their system. As such i needed to fill in a V55/5 (along with a V765 - i think thats the number) and on the V55/5 it asks for its year of manufacture. Also - im just curious as to how old it is!

You can get one from Honda but it will cost you £30!
As the bike is on the Dvla registraded you should not have to do this however.
If needbee,

Send a letter to Honda, make sure you send it recorded delivery with a cheque made out to Honda ( Uk) for 30 uk pounds)
Address

Honda uk
Year or Manufacturer
470 London Road
Slough
Sl3 8qy

In the letter state your after year of manufacturer for the Dvla.
State the model, eg , St70 and the vin number, eg St70-234511
No need to put the engine number, they will have that.

Full details can be found if u google, "Honda uk year of manufacturer" and follow the links to the official Honda uk site.
Get the exact details from Honda, I'm just trying to point u in the right direction if needed.

Worked for me, got mine ack in 5 days, but I did not have a reg plate.

I would put the onus back on them, they issued a plae but now don't have the details ?

Good luck either way hope it works out.

Hey Jay

Sadly, its not on the system. Back to my forms!

Honda helpfully told me they dont have CoC's for a ST70. They also incorrectly told me I need to get an MSVA. On DirectGov it states "MSVA applies to the following types of vehicles that are unregistered, under 10 years old and don’t have ECWVTA." And given mine is 40 years old im 30 years out.

They did say they would answer technical questions on the help email. So i'll soon ping that email address a load of technical questions so I can fill in the V55/5...

What a palava.

Hi Eliot, unlucky that its not on, a mate has just put a Chaly through and it wasn't too painful, got it MOT'd, put the paperwork in with £70 and reg papers appeared - they didn't even want to inspect it. Hopefully yours is easy too.

DVLA often have ar*se/elbow anatomy issues :D

Gets some pics up, always good to see other projects on the go.

Hi mate give me a call on ***** i will give you all the details off my log book. You do not need to have a COC thats only required for a newly imported bike that has NEVER been registered in the uk.You can also get in touch with DAVID SILVER SPARES to get the year of manufacture but he also charges.
Another thing you can do is get an mot on it but give me a call i can explain it better

Dvla will only accept a Year of Manufacturer letter from honda these day, so you will have to pay them if you really need one,

Good luck!

Hey Andy

Sorry for the massive delay, had a bit of a hectic week and then the Dunwich Dynamo on the weekend. I'll give you call this evening.

Thanks a million!

Eliot
