6v battery question
thanks everyone especially Waynus.

there's some white powder residue looks like a little battery has spilled a bit in its life. can I clean it up, keep existing battery and top it up? no point buying another battery case is there?

Re: 6v battery question
Make sure you refill the battery only when it's fully charged.
It's a pretty agressive acid, so you should clean it up, be carefull for you skin, eyes and clothes.
My suggestion is to throw the acid battery away and get a gell version.
Available in the same dimensions, 6v and maintenace free.
It will save you a lot of trouble, higher output, longer lifespan.
If the level of the acid battery has dropped below the metal, it's fried anyway and won't hold much power ever again, even after a refill.

brilliant, thanks waynus. I guess gel wouldn't leak if the bike is tilted unlike the normal lead acid batteries?

thanks again. do you have a link for a 6v gel that would fit in a k1 '72 st70? I have been looking on the bay and Google last night and can't find.

I just hope it fits, let us know :D
Had my eye on this for a while, the measurements look correct and it's 4.5amp!
And it's so cheap!

Re: 6v battery question
was going to get one of these but realised SLA stands for sealed lead acid and i don't see any reference to gel filled?

i do however, see AGM, absorbent glass mat. so might be suspended in the glass matting and non vented.

can anyone confirm?

otherwise i am still on the hunt for a gel.
