Do any of them run
Hi all, serious question, having owned an st70 for about 10 years, are any of them reliable, I understand that they are from shall we say another era, I have a 1983 Campervan that I would travel the world in, but the dax , I wouldn't go far because I know I'd have to push it back home,

I have a 1972 reg ST70. Stored since 1974 with 900miles recorded.

Oil change, new plug, new air filter, points and valve clearances adjusted, new rectifier diode and battery (duff).

I've had it just over a year now, have done over 500 miles on it and it's never missed a beat. I did run out of petrol a couple of times though due to the tiny fuel tank.

I love it - if anything ever happened to it, I'd get another. It's perfect for commuting and local trips.
A real 100 mpg, no tax / MOT, ULEZ exemption and £100 insurance. It was, and still is - the future.

The only downside really is that idiot hipsters on 'vintage' scooters think it's appropriate to wave at me and give thumbs up signs.
I return a middle finger to these t*ssers.

Hi Wayneboy, I have two Honda ST70's, one I've had 10 years and one I've had 3 years and they are very reliable litlle bikes having the very strong 70cc engine similar to the Honda c50s c70s and c90s , the main thing is the to change the engine oil at regular intervals, one down side is them being quite a small bike and the cars and lorries don't always see you on them.

On my bike it was a big orange selenium diode - made of sheet metal. It had failed. I swapped it out for a potted silicon one. On later bikes they may have used a different type of diode as original equipment. There also is a single fuse on my bike - attached near to the battery.
