Hello everyone, i am a noob After just coming back from asia and riding bikes all the time, I realised I needed a bike in the UK. When I was a kid my uncle gave me a chaly cf70 that i got running and used to ride around fields etc.. It still runs now, my cousin is restoring it. Anyway to cut to the chase I just bought another Chaly from EBay last week and found this forum so decided to join, as Dax and Chalys do have a lot in common. Here she is: Since the picture was taken i have put a new seat cover on and some mirrors. I have not taken the bike out on the road yet as i need to do a cbt and get it taxed. I have a couple of problems, any advice would be much appreciated. 1. sometimes it starts and sometimes it doesnt. yesterday it started first kick and i rode it around in the garden for a bit. Went to start it again 1/2 hour later and it wouldnt start at all. Petrol tap is on. Same again today. 2. Indicators have just stopped working. No lights come on at all. It had a new repeater unit put in for the MOT by the seller 2 weeks ago. I dont think its the switch on the handlebars because when you switch it the neutral light dims a little which must mean its doing something? All bulbs are fine and i have checked most connections. Could it be an earthing problem? How are the indicators earthed? What else could it be? Cheers. Joe

Would like to meet up as I am only in Cranfield but it won't be on the ST70 i'm afraid as that is undergoing a rebuild and is unlikely to be on the road this year unless I put it back together to see that all the mechanicals are ok and then strip it down again over the winter. I also currently have an ST50 Dax which is 100% roadworthy but that is going to my dad in Oxford very soon.
