Have you checked the float level? Also make sure the float hasn't punctured. Mine used to dribble if left with tap on, float had small hole, found by putting into hot water - air bubbles can be seen. Float needle sometimes gets worn, easier to replace than reseat. Vmax

The only time you really need to buy a new carb is if there is a hairline crack or other major issue that cannot be fixed. A few years back I had issues with my carb and the gasket kit was nearly as much as a replacement Chinese carb (with the tap on the other side)!

I think Waynus wrote a post on here about a year ago that details what the standard carb settings should be. Unfortunately, carbs appear to be quite simple but they are intricate instruments that can cause serious running issues if not 100% tuned correctly.

I had someone fiddle with my carb last year who thought they knew what they were doing (so did I because they used to race motocross), then 10 miles later my engine was smoking and now something is terminally wrong with it lol (hence why it's off the road this year)!

Hi guys
just seen the post I had problems getting mine to run in the end I got a replacement which is ideal but my old carb had done 13k miles and had wear on the screws and castings which ment that the settings constantly varied. New parts were just silly price so a new carb was a bargain unfortunately the original air filter no longer fits but I have done in excess of 800 miles on the new one and it runs like a sewing machine, Oh and touch wood
