HI
I'm back with my Lady fitted a new ignition coil the one tucked away in the frame and the ignition coil in the magneto and guess what she runs Yeeesssss
Like all good luck stories there is a but, starts okay on half choke but coughs and splutters when opening the throttle, are there any basic start from settings for the 2 screws on the side of the carb it is a 1974 ST70, once I get her to run properly it is time to get an MOT and some miles in.
P.S I am bidding on the indicator and horn switch on Ebay I hope it is not against any member here

Re: CARB SETTINGS
If it's a standard carb for the engine, these settings should work:
(if everything has been set up properly, new gaskets, no air leaks,...)

- the screw for the air inlet (the screw at the right side og the carb, near the air box): 1,5 turns. (So close enterily, then turn 540°)
- needle in the middle stand
- adjust the idle screw when running untill it runs nice and slow (this won't affect your carb behaviour at other rpm's)

It is normal that you have to drive the bike for a couple of hundred meters before you can turn off the choke completely.
Otherwhise, it will result in turning the engine off or strange behaviour when opening the throttle completely.
So... set you carb only when you're engine has warm up a bit!

I found investing in a Colourtune kit well worth the money, shop around though.
