We need more members, but how?

I completely agree with you. The site was originally a blog documenting the restoration of my Lady Dax but then I decided to add a forum etc. It then turned into an Owners Club which will make it quite hard to change about.

I have some plans for the site anyway, it needs a complete overhaul and this week has dropped right down the Google rankings (not quite sure why either). The homepage needs a complete rework and the software the main site runs on is way out of date and needs a huge upgrade - something I am going to do in the coming months.

I am not trying to turn this site into the biggest Honda Dax forum on the web, all I want is somewhere for fellow owners to chat, get information etc

have you ever entered members bikes into classic shows i am a member of classic two stroke club last year had bikes in display at Pickering steam fair . has classic car /bike / tractor / well everything .classic ,
but by having club banners up and bikes on display had over 500 new members join forum and club

Personally I've never taken my bike to a show (it would be quite difficult as it's always off the road these days)! I think a couple of members have put their bikes on display before. It's certainly a good idea!!

I took both my ST's to shows last year and the one comment I heard over and over again was "I had a friend who had one of those but it was red or blue".Perhaps a website sticker or address type sticker for our bikes would help. If you search the interweb our site does not pop up straight away I dont know how these search enjuns work.
Perhaps if we have a calender where shows or meets can be found would help but people would have to keep it updated also we still need to know where people are located.
We also need more piccy's for the gallery even if the bike is in a state of rebuild as people like to see the bikes.
Anyway I have now had some time to sort out my garage and been able to work in the evenings and have started some refurbishment after last years shakedown runs and I will post some pictures of my progress shortly (work permitting) all comments are most welcome even the ones I might not agree with.

i only found site by accident not by looking for st 50 perhaps broader title.
i know its a hard thing to do but perhaps stickers sold to members ect to get more noticed may help
i am a ride out leader for group in northeast England called nukb (north uk bikers) we have car and helmet stickers and get a lot of interest that way

The way to do this is to keep the site active, its up to you all
Ive been on this site for a few years and latley it does seem more active, if you set your user options to "Notify you when a reply is posted" you know when a thread your involved in has been replied to.
I find this works for me, that way you can give a prompt reply

Ideas welcome

We need a FAQ section which will help new members but also allow some of the older members pass on all their acquired knowledge.
The biggest thing we need is enthusiasm

Its the same people that contribute to this site time and time again. (Just as well really, otherwise it would be boring)

As long as there is some sort of conversation, I suppose thats all we can hope for, for now.

If it needs me in a mankini to get things going, I am prepared to do the honours...............but are you ready?? (Sick bags at the ready)

Well have a picture competion for the best photo off the month .... which you put in the heading off the forum..... it needs more colour the bikes are fun so the forum should be to..... it needs more fun....
