VIN NUMBER

Hello ST people
Just joined the forum as I'll be picking up a derelict ST70 rolling chassis with a bucket full of bits but seemingly no paperwork or registration number. However, I do have the the VIN (frame) and engine numbers. Is it possible that some knowledgeable soul on the forum could date this so I can sort out the appropriate bits I'll need to replace?
I bought a new one in 1976 from Pride & Clarke in SW London and obviously now wish I'd kept it!
Also any advice welcomed about installing a bigger engine with a 4 spd box and if any frame mods are needed.I'm not too worried about restoring it to original specs but depends on cost and other factors.
Thanks and look forward to further contact.I'm in NW Kent/SE London area and it would be interesting to find out if anyone locally has one.
Brian.

VIN NUMBER UPDATE - FRAME NUMBER.
I've now got the bike and found the frame number on the left hand side just below the aircleaner. The workshop manual I've got shows that it's also stamped on the nearside front downtube but is it usually stamped in both locations or either?
Also the number "9" seems a bit odd in that it looks like it's been "converted" from a "1" by adding a badly aimed lopsided "o" punched in at the top of the "1" to make it a "9".

Anyway I'm sure someone can date it with some degree of accuracy and meanwhile I'll be looking for a good silencer, headlamp bowl and maybe a good cylinder head.

Seems like the frame number problem I thought I had aparrently isn't a problem after all. I've been reliably informed by a long established Honda mechanic that Honda used an oddly styled "9" in their early frame numbers.Theres a C90 engine on eBay at this moment with same "9" in the engine number so now on with getting the frame legally documented and let the restoration begin.

I hope this may of some help to anyone with a similar query.
Cheers
