6v HORN AND EXHAUST QUERY
Hello ST'eers
I need a 6v horn for my ST70 restoration job that's gradually coming together on the bench.
The original Honda part number is 381 098 671 but most suppliers show it as no longer available. If anyones got a good used one thats squeaks like a stick pig when frightened by a pair of battery leads I'd be interested in buying it.
Also presuming a 6v horn from a C50/70/90 could be used by fabricating a mounting bracket with the two hole fixing.

I also sent a pic recently of the exhaust shield I've got and a bit surpised no one recognises it. It fits perfectly on the upswept exhaust system I've got but looks as if it could be part of an ST/CZ/ etc.,exhaust shield. None of the pics I've seen on these bikes show them with the same number of holes. It originally had a black finish when I acquired it but I've stripped it back to bare metal with the intention of eventually getting it chromed.
Any clues welcomed
Brian

Hi,
I bought most of my restoration parts from CMSNL, the ones I couldn't find there were sourced through eBay in the USA.
There are loads of NOS parts for the CT70 available.

I had a look on CMSNL for that part number but nothing came up. If your bike is a UK model the part no. is listed as 38100124721 which is still available from your local Honda dealer for about £20. Here is the link for the horn on CMSNL, hope this helps.

As already stated the genuine horn is still available for about £20 so don't go searching for an old one or paying for one to be sent from overseas.
If your local Honda dealer won't supply parts (mine won't order parts for any bike over 10-years old even if you have the part number!) just order direct from David Silver, probably best going straight to them anyway.

Thank chaps -I didn't bother to look on CSNL after the disagreeable way they treated me when I placed my last order with them.Admittedly they've got fantastic website but David Silver and Lings are my preferred choices - extremely helpful - ultra quick service and no £/Euro exchange rate issues which make them comparitively expensive
For anyone just starting to look at buying vintage Jap spares it's a great advantage in quoting a part number which makes it so much easier to search the correct part.If anyone reading this needs any assistance I'll be pleased to help as I have an original Honda ST50/70 parts catalogue - fully illustrated up to 1978 models.
Now,on with my wooly hat and off down the garage wearing my padded overalls (£19.99 from Lidls) - fantastically warm even when its 5 below - best piece of kit I've ever worn - believe me!All I need is heated spanners!
