Hi,

I have just taken my 1973 ST70 Lady out of the Shed to get back on the road. I would like some sound advise on what to do with her and some advice needed to get her through the MOT.

The Wheels have been painted black. Is this the original colour? How do I go about restoring them to pristine condition as they are a bit rusty?
The mud Guards are also painted black. Is this the original colour for the mudguards? yet again if not how do i approach getting them corrected and what colour should they be?

Will I need indicators for the MOT?

Will she require a front number plate?

She was last used about 20years ago and only has 1009 miles on the clock, She obviously needs some TLC.

Would it be better to keep her original paintwork or to restore her? She does have a small amout of rust on frame/forks/swingarm/chain guard, but nothing too major for a 39year old...

Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks

Hi Defadog'

Wheels should be silver, cloud silver I think, get them blasted then repaint.
Mudguards should also be silver blast and paint again.

You do not need indicators, they did not come with them.
No front numbers plate needed either.

Lots of posts on the site about restorations, take a look around.

Put a few pictures up so we can have a look.

Good luck and have fun :D

Cheers,

Blue
