Hi
I have seen this part on ebay and checked on my 76 6 volt and it has not got one I have also checked the 1972 parts book and one is not listed I can only think that it fits across the rack fixing plate but there is nowhere on the seat to latch to possibly only fitted on the Japanese bikes with the rectangular head light.

Thanks again, I just found it strange that there is no kind of locking mechanism to hold the seat down, all the other bike's iv'e had from the 70s have had either a latch and or a lock.

So what we are saying is if my Chaly is parked up somebody can syphon a pint of petrol out  must get myself a locking petrol cap

ps yeh good job its a step through, you would have to be a gymnast to throw your leg over with a butty box on

Hi Phil, nope NO catch, but then in the 70's a gallon (NOT A LITRE) was a mere 72p, so no locking cap was needed (I remember borrowing 36p off my mum to fill mine up)

I'd like to say well, but thats a lie, I'm still scrounching bits when I find them, just got a near new/perfect seat, and a brand new rear light bracket, along with 4 indicators, so the bits are building a big pile in the middle of the garage, lol..

Hows yours Phil?
