Inserting fuel tank into frame
Has anyone got any tips? I am struggling big time with this! :(

I have attached the fuel lines to the bottom of the tank already, should I have done this?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, first the fuel tubes, the 2 rubbers in the frame, the rubber around the tank.
Just... push it in (forward, down)
It seems like a struggle but there isn't really a way to make it easier.
Make sure the wire loom etc. is out of the way.

The only way I can get the tank in is to not use the front rubber which slips over the front of the tank. It is impossible for the tank to fit with the rubber on. Are there any issues with using the tank without the front rubber?

Thanks

Hi James
the question I would ask is if it was not neccasary would Mr Honda have fitted it, also get some silicone grease or KY lube not Vaseline as this rots latex (rubber) and put some of that on the mounting rubbers that might help to ease it and it will make it easier to remove if you have the same problems as me.

Thanks for the advice Tufty. I spent two hours this afternoon wrestling with the fuel tank and have managed to get it in with the front rubber on. One of the rubber pads it sits on isn't quite in the right place but it doesn't move and seems solid. Just need to push it forward another half inch (which looks impossible) and then I can put the plate over the top of it.

It's been a real struggle and by far the hardest job I have had to do. It looks so easy but it's like putting a square plug in a round hole!

I just hope I don't have electrical problems because it's not coming back out!
