Hiya
Welcome to the world of the 6 volt you do not say if your motor is running when you carry out this test as only the brake light and horn work with a fully charged battery if the motor is not running. but you will find the running lights getting brighter as the revs increase when the motor is running also good clean earths are vitally important.

You have an old type acid filled battery or a new gel battery?
If you have the first one, a gel battery with the highest amp range would be a good upgrade.
Make sure you switch the bike off after running.
But still, it will run flat after some time. A seperate switch directly at the battery could help.

Where is the best place to buy a "gel" type 6v battery ? I am just starting to collect a few bits to restore my 1978 ST70 - will start own thread with some pictures soon !

Any serious bike shop has these.
Make sure you get them in the right dimension, don't know the correct model number of the battery.
