Re: Fuel problem??
Ben save your money on the coil i bought one from monkeybike uk at a cost of £67  did not cure the problem,i think we are both at the same crossroads :?: ,i did read on this site that you do need a pulley and also need to solder the wires to the condenser + there are 2 different size condensers dependent on the flywheel make ( not 100% sure) .
i,m going to change the condenser in the next week or so,will let you know how it goes from there.
cheers Arn

Is the condensor soldered on??
You'll need a flywheel puller and an oil filter strap. (or some forks, to fix the flywheel)
ANd yes, the condensor is soldered on. Be very!!! carefull not to make the new condensor hot when soldering as it breaks down very fast when heated.

Ben my problem just got a whole lot worse  after cleaning the carb and fitting fuel filters, hoping this may cure, took her out today after 3 week rest, got 100 yards and guess what splutter splutter and STOP........... now will not start at all  ??? checked plug good spark, points look good, and no spark when openng them with ignition on,so i,m lost and maybe had enough :?........... let us know how you fair.
now at a complete loss of what to do next, spark plug was very black and sooty and there is no evidence of petrol at the plug, even though there is fuel in the carb and its just been cleaned :?: suppose i,ll have to remove again, what a loverly day SHOULD BE OUT RIDING !!

Re: Fuel problem??
Dismantled carb once again and found that the small float pin(not sure of name) which opens and shuts when the float moves up/down,was stuck shut !! i would of taken out but unable to remove the pin holding the float in place ?? is it screwed in as i could not see a head(bloody tiny) shame it could happen again.... started first time, now like Ben just the breaking down after getting hot to sort  condenser/points ordered here we go again another first time challenge :?

Re: Fuel problem??
The pin holding the float in place just pushes out, should come out relatively easily. WIll be worth taking that off and giving it a clean by the sounds of it.

Can't wait to see what difference the new condenser makes.
