Exhaust popping

Hi all,

My ST70 has been running beautifully for a long time now and I have been using it to get to and from worl for the past 6 months. A few weeks ago the overflow on the carb started to leak and I took the carb off to find there was a little buildup under the seal where the botto, bowl passes fuel to the top bowl. Cleaned it, refitting and the leak has stopped.

Since replacing the carb, may be coinsidence, the exhaust has started popping on decel. Only slightly at first, but over the past few days it has increased massively. The bike has also stalled a few times at lights which it hasn't done before. This morning on my way to work the popping got much louder and is now making a noise when reving, a loud one to. Do you think this is an exhaust gasket or something worse???

Any advise would be greatly recieved.

The bike has also been popping a little from what seems like the carb when i first kick start it and rev it a little, this soon stops tho.

Cheers

Re: Exhaust popping
Sounds like an air leak. Check the seal between the carb and the manifold and the manifold to the cyl head. Vmax
