Best oil for my baby
Hi All

I am ready to change the oil on my 1972 ST70, can anyone tell me what the best oil I can put in my enginge is?

Long time since I bought any oil, usually just let the dealer service my bigger bike...

Looking forward to my first long run out and I don't know when the last owner changed the oil last

Thanks

Edge, first of all it's wise to change your oil.
Because you drain out all the little metal parts and dirt.
If you have the change, clean your oil filter at once.

Concerning your question about the best oil for these engines.
Nowadays, the cheapest oil is far superior from the best oil available in the '70s.
A singlegrade oil will do the trick (as can be read on the clutch cover) but I'd recommend to buy 10W40 for "motorbike wet clutch engines".
15W40 and 5W40 will do the trick as well, but still... for wet clutches.

Apart from that, don't look at the brands and prices.
For an engine with such a simple mechanical design, the super expensive race oil won't be any better as the cheapest (suitable!) oil.

Thanks for the advice. I will be popping down to my loca store and getting some 10w40 today.
