Rear Brake Pedal

Does anyone know if it is aluminum or not? It's quite rusted on one side but am sure it will clean up.

Any ideas on how to clean it up? Wire wool and then some aluminum polish?

MY BREAK PEDAL IS CHROMED STEEL I DON'T THINK ALUMINIUM WOULD BE SUITABLE
