Rings part number? and configuration help!
I have got the st running but the oil seal on the piston seems to be letting by and the bike smokes and spits oil out the breather on the exhaust pipe.

I bought the rings from ebay 330424330341 item number (honda part 13011-126-751) but on the CMS Parts web site the part number is (13010-087-023) I dont know if the rings I bought are a early part number? but to be fair they seemed to fit ok when I fitted them on the piston.

I am thinking of getting another set from the same guy and starting again with a new set to see If I fitted them wrong but I am unsure if they are the correct ones? would anybody know.

Also the configuration of the rings ,5 total -2 thin witch I hope go either side of the corrigated oil seal,a black ring above in the next groove and then on the top the grey ring?

Thanks

Kirk

Did you space the ends of each of the rings at approx 120 degrees? Did you check the bore for scores, marks etc and did you measure the diameter of the bore across the top edge compared with the same measurement taken about 1cm down from the top edge with a gauge (check for bore wear)? Are rings the correct way up? If all these check out OK, I think I'd opt for a rebore, piston, rings and also get the head overhauled (check valve guides, lap the valves etc). :)
