I new to the forum and looking for somehelp.
I have a 1973 st70 white lady which i bought new.It has covered 3,200 miles.Has not been used for many years,so i renovated paintwork only.Renewed spark plug and points/condensor.reset valve clearances.New fuel etc.
The bike starts fine without choke as it always did ,but now will not take more than three quarter thottle.More throtle seems to stangle it.Have tried removing airfilter and altering needle but still no good.

You should check the following:
- dirt in the carb
- no air leaks around the the manifold?
- Sure you din't make any mistakes on the valves / ignition timing? Correct type of points fitted? (some brands do not match!)
- dirt or rust in the fuel tank? I suggest to fit a fuel filter.
- Try running the lady with the fuel cap dismounted!
- Check spark plug opening, cover and wiring.
