Honda ST70 - 6v to 12v conversion
Hello All,

I have a ST70 6v and want to convert to the 12v to gain the benefits of the greater electrical power from the 12v.

Has anyone done this? Is it as simple as changing the whole wiring and 12v battery? I assume not...

Any info would be great, thank you.

Hi Will,
I have been through the same dilemma as you.
I purchased a 6 volt DAX with no engine and installed a Lifan 12 volt engine.
Eventually I purchased a conversion kit from Beatrice Cycles in USA (easily found on the internet)
This enabled all the 6 volt items to be left in place--battery,loom, bulbs. horn etc. and is easily convertible back from 12 volt to 6 volt, should the need ever arise.
It works very successfully and is easily fitted.
The total cost was £60.29 for the converter and rectifier pigtail and shipping.
The downside was, I had to pay an additional £13.34 Customs Charge and delivery was about 2 weeks.

So Good Luck

Ken
