Installing ST70 Petrol tank

Hi all

Trying to install a new metal petrol tank into the frame of my ST70, it goes in about 85% of the way with a decent amount of pressure and then stops. Nothing I do makes a difference. Wiring loom is in place running along the bottom middle of the chassis 'tube'. There must be a special knack, all I'm doing at the moment is scratching the black paint off the top of the tank!

You are right, it is a knack, but the more times you do it the easier it gets! Top tip, spray tank ,
rubber mounts and inside of frame with silicone lubricant. It will not damage wiring loom paint etc but will make the job a lot easier.
