Registering an early ST50
Hope someone can help me. I have two ST50s, one is a 1990 12v fully registered etc. The other is a restoration project, it came with loads of parts but not the correct engine and no registration number or V5. I did an HPI and could not get the reg number, but it is clear, ie not stolen or written off.
My plan is to fit the 12v motor from my 1990 bike into the early one and build the bike from there. The rest of it will be basically standard. I am not worried about any of the electrical or mechanical work that has to be done, however I do not want to go to all this bother and end up with a Q plate. Does anyone have experience of going through this process and can they advise? Will the later engine make a difference to how it is dated and if so would I be better looking for an early 6v motor? Many thanks in advance

Should have mentioned the early bike is a 6v from 1969!
