Paint colours (not frame)
Hi there,
I want to restore my 1973 UK spec candy red ST70. The paint on the frame and sw. arm are in good order, but the wheels and mudguards have seen much better days and need stripping and repainting. Both are silver, but is this the same colour silver for both?
I would like to get the colour as authentic as possible, so any help (re: paint name, codes, equivalents etc.) would be most appreciated.
In addition, are the clutch and magneto covers the same silver too, as I might as well get those resprayed at the same time with the same colour if they are?
Oh, and just one last thought - those wheel hubs. They look like they were originally polished and laquered, but after 46 years they just look nackered! What do you recommend?
thanks in advance

I've an unrestored CT70 Trail. The engine and wheel hubs are the same silver satin finish. Not your model I know.

IMG_20181002_121315_544.JPG Hi Peter I have a 1973 candy red st70 also, I have used in the past on the wheels and mudguards hamerite smooth silver and I did one at a time and it gives a sort of dull silver finish that was a good match, hope this is of some help
