Hi all! Newly here! After growing up riding my dads 1979 dax in South Africa I bought a rare Lady Dax 1972 just the other day. I now live in Woking in the United Kingdom. I adore these bikes and have been looking for an opportunity to learn more about engines and mechanics in general. The bike is pristine and started on the first kick when I went to see it. Unfortunately I have not been able to get it started since. The spark plugs is covered in oil (previous owner must have put a new one in just before I arrived
) the blue smoke and the oil leak once a loaded the bike should have been a clue... either way I’m looking for advise on how to go about fixing the bike. From what I’ve read, it could be the piston rings. I’m planning on taking out the engine, replace all gaskets and oil seals and inspect the piston. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated!
