Hi all. Just picked this 1973 ish , 4000 miler up. Got a few issues and odd missing bits but otherwise ok. Main issue I can see is gear lever shaft spline u/s.Winter project.Never attempted anything as bad as this but looking forward to it....
Q. Can replacement gear lever selector shaft be fitted without splitting crank cases?
Q. Is it generally considered uneconomic to salvage pitted chrome work and better replacing with new or is best to keep original bits wherever possible to keep values up?
Q.Previous owner said it never had indicators...guess these must have been removed at some point?

Thanks in advance for any responses... 🖼 st70.png (photo damaged in backup)

Hi Brian, as far as I know the law states that any motorcycle first registered in England before 1st August 1986 does not need indicators to pass an MOT and looking at a few of the brochures from the early 70s for the Honda st70 many of them didn't seem have indicators, maybe they were an extra at that time 8-)
