Re: 6 Volt Wiring
i am just about to pick up my 1978 st70, the first thing i would like to do is to change from 6v to 12v and fit some indicators, above waynus says
'The easiest and cheapest way is to fit a 12v Jingcheng ignition. (6v crank fitting, 12v output) or an expensive (but performance) solution is a Kitaco,... 12v rotor (again, for a 6v crank)
This can only be done if you have an L-type crank!!! (so no Hitachi ignition systems! Because you'll have to place a conversion part over your crank)
Also, you can fit in a 12v maintance-free battery + LED/halogen bulbs with higher outpot and longer lifespan.'

does anyone have any instructions on how to do this? is it easy? what do i need?
please bear with me im a mechanical engineer and electrics are not my thing (yet)

With the right basic electrical knowledge and some money: yep, possible.
Lots of info can be found on this forum. (I will look up the topic and move this one)
