Hi folks

My Dax ST70 from 77 is giving me some trouble :) just replaced all clutch plates and took it all together Again with assistance of a diagram from Honda so it didnt go wrong .... when hitting the kickstart arm now , - it just slips now ...... not taking motor and piston in action ... tried to turn the adjustment screw right and left .... no differences there ... what the h.... is wrong ? ......
The motor is a original 3 gear semiautomatic
Any suggestions ? ...... :)

Re: clutch slipping
im a little confused about your description.
What exactly slips, does the engine turn over when you kick the starter?

I'm assume you adjusted the clutch?

Slacken of the locking nut for the clutch adjusting screw.
Turn the adjusting screw anti-clockwise until you feel pressure
Turn the adjusting screw clockwise about 1/8th of a turn.
Tighten the lock nut ensuring the screw does not turn.

Not sure what that is, think your going to have to open it up again to take a look.

Did you check the clutch springs were ok when you changed the plates?

One thing worth looking at is the plate on the inside of the clutch cover, the one that moves on the adjuster screw, it's located inside the clutch cover.
I've seen these stick in the past, make sure it's moving freely when you adjust the screw.
