Overflow pipe?

Evening guys!

I have started to restore my ST70, when removing the fuel tank I found a pipe located within the frame but couldnt see if was meant to have both end connected or if it is an over flow pipe. (see attached image)

The pipe is connect to the top of the crankcase, I have tried looking through parts list and can see that it could be this http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-st70-england ... 761045000/

Does the other end connect to anything or is it an overflow, if so where should it be routed to?

Engine breather pipe. Route the pipe from the crank case, say, to meet with the battery vent pipe.
