Early Forks on ST70
When I stripped the forks on my '72 ST 70 for powder coating there was no Oil or grease in them.
I read somewhere that they should be packed with grease is this correct. If so is it pushed in from the top or is it the bottom where the bushes slide in
Thanks

HI
You pack the grease around the spring when you reassemble the forks.

Are you sure Tuffty?
When I did mine I cleaned the inside of the forks uppers out with a wire brush that resembles a toliet cleaner :D
Stuffed the forks uppers full of grease, coated the upper spring holder, springs, lower holders, sliders and pushed them back into the fork uppers wiping the excess grease off as it splurged out.
They seem to be fine, firm with no wobble :D

Seemed to work for me

Thanks for the replies. i did as Blue said. I packed top and bottom Then I packed the springs, Finally packed it all around the white sleeves and pushed them in It splurged out the holes at the top but they are well packed with grease and nice and solid no wobble.
