ST70E and C70E Engines.

I was told years ago that the Cub 72cc engine was the same as the ST70 72cc engine, just with differing engine numbers. Can anyone confirm this for sure please? I have a set of empty ST70E crankcases and wanted to put the internal parts from a C70E engine into them. Didn't want to start the swap only to find I had been mis-informed. Thanks in advance chaps.
