Chaly wiring loom query
Hi everyone,
I'm restoring a early 70 6V Cf70 chaly. It came with original wiring loom which had a lot of wiring that was added into it, was missing some plugs in the headlight bowl etc.
I decided to buy a replica loom on eBay. The usual vietnamese/thai one,
now a lot of the colours are similar but some aren't. Have I accidentally bought a 12V loom?
is it better to recreate a new one? I'm handy with a soldering iron and multimeter.
I wanted to use the new one as its nice and shiny. The original is totally manly.

tips? Will be running stock as a rock setup, no extras in the wiring.

cheers.

Re: Chaly wiring loom query
Hi Alex,

From my experience having used a non OEM loom here's my thoughts,,,

Does it have the right type of connection blocks so all of the components are plugged in?
If so are all the wires in the right place? I ask this as I had to move a few pins around as they were wrong in my case.
Also had to change a connection to female as the block was male.
However I think this was more due to the aftermarket controls I had.
Are you really bothered if the colours are different?
If you want an OEM loom, then buy one if you can afford too.

If not work with what you have and make it fit!

It's not as hard as creating a new loom.

Good luck,

Blue
