Cleaning a seat

Hi,

What would be the best way to clean the seat and give it some 'life'. It's looking rather dull at the moment :(

I do still have the strap which goes over the seat but will need to find it as I can't remember where I put it!

I have seen some studs for the seat so can replace those quite easily! :)

Are there any products which will bring it to life without being harmful to the 34 year old plastic/leather!

Thanks :)

Hi

The best way to clean your seat is with a toothbrush (or a slightly larger brush (of soft/medium composition, not hard bristles) and some warm (not too hot) soapy water. Gently scrub it and then wipe off the dirty water/residue with a dry cloth and then let it dry completely. Finally, polish up with a good vinyl cleaner/polish - buff it up and it should look good!! Seat can sometimes be a little slippy afterwards so if you brake hard whilst driving - careful you dont slide forward!!! This method worked for me and my seat looked great afterwards. If seat is really dirty - you may want to use some dilute TFR (traffic film remover (as used in pro car valeting bays) on it to get the dirt out first and then polish afterwards.

P.S. If your bike (Lady DAX) is the one pictured in your listing, i'm not sure if the material maybe of a different constitution to the normal black seats so be careful!! :)
