New Member Says Hello
Hi All, Just stumbled accross your site and registered. I have a 1975 St 70 in metalic red. Am having a few problems with it at the moment. Does anyone of you know what the timing should be and what the points and plug gap are. Also what is the measurment of the float when the float neadle is closed and carb is upside down.
I live in bristol and have a few mates with St70s. They also have a few other mopeds and small vintage jap bikes. We all meet on a tuesday night and go for a ride out for an hour or so. So last tuesday was my first ride out on my st but it kept cutting out every 800 yards or so but would restart straight away. Now how ever when i try to start it. It starts but cuts out after a minute or so. Any help would be fantastic.
Thanks all
Simon

Hi Simon and welcome to the website.

I don't know the answer to your questions I'm afraid but I am sure someone will be along soon to answer them.

Do you have the owners manual? If you need one let me know as I have a digital copy which might contain some of the information you need.

Many Thanks

Hi Simon,

You owe me nothing as I didn't make it/put it together, I just downloaded it off the web a while ago! I have hosted it on the website and will PM you the link for it because it's not my own work and I am worried about copyright issues.

If anyone else needs the manual drop me a PM and I will send you the link :)

It's 13.5Mb and in PDF Format.

Thanks

Setting up ignition timing:
use the 'F'-marker on the flywheel

Setting up the rocker cam:
use the "T" marker together with the little circle on the rocker cam.

Welcome!
