New Member Saying Hi
Hello everyone, I'm new here so thought I'd say hello.
My name is James and I'm from London.
I own a 1973 Honda CF70 and a 1977 ST70. I bought the CF about 4 years ago. It had already been restored, but since then I have made a few improvements.
The ST is currently half way through restoration. At the moment, all the painted parts are in a bodyshop after being blasted and primed. I'm hoping they will see some paint this week. I will create a new post later with some photos ;)

I do however have a problem. My mudguards are a bit ropey, so I would love to buy some replacements. I bought some chrome reproductions from OORacing, but the rear one is terrible. It's the wrong shape where it sits above the swing arm and the indentations for where it sits around the shocks are in the wrong place.

I found an old post on here which had a link to a German eBay listing, but they only have the front guard listed. I would like to say at this point that Waynus was a great help with translating some German for me. They haven't emailed me back by the way :(

Does anyone here know where I can get a pair of mudguards? They have to be the "German Helmet" style.
I think I'm going to have to tidy my original ones up. My CF has a nice pair of chrome guards, but not sure where they were purchased. I have a feeling that they may've been bought from Monkeybike UK some years ago. They quality of them is very good.

Oh well, that's enough of me banging on. I'm off for a look around and I'll whack a few pics up later.
Cheers
James

Hi James,

Welcome, looking forward to seeing the pics of the build.
Ebay is your best best for the mudguards, they do come up quite often.
Good choice with German type, they looks so much better in my opinion.

Best,

Blue

Hi James.

I got a pair of chrome mudguards for my CF from shire bikes (new name for monkey bike uk) about a year ago. They were about £33 each plus postage.
Hope this helps.

Martin.

Hello to you all..
My name is Mark and I live in Cannock, Staffs.

At the moment I have a candy red 1990 ST50 genuine 550 miles which I`ve had since September last year. Its in absolutely immaculate condition. Not a mark on it.
After I got it home I stood there and gazed at it and came to the conclusion it was too good to use !
That was it then. It sort of started things off.....
I then managed to get a blue 1971 ST70..As a restoration project, which turned out to be nicked ! It took DVLA and the old bill 3 months to come to that conclusion. Even after I produced the HPI certificate!! Wonderful. Lost that one.
Then came along a blue 1976 ST70, again as a restoration project. I`m sort of halfway through it at the moment.(Waiting for the chrome to come back, but seems to be taking forever) But won`t take long to do.
A black 1990 ST50 came along at the right money so I had that for my winter project.. Not too bad nick but wants sorting..
That was that, I thought...Until last weekend...
A 1972 ? lady dax arrived. Totally original 4300miles.Been stood in some guys shed for years.. Needs restoring so I`m going to be busy over the winter.. The bike has no number plate or tax disc, But has visible frame and engine numbers. I don't think there`s anything "amiss" with its history so shouldn't be too hard to get the V5.

Anyway that's about it for the time being. I`ll post some pictures soon of the `76 resto and the rest of the "fleet"

Mark.
