Alas, I'm neither fit nor babe (in fact I'm the polar opposite of that....).

it won't be two hours non-stop, I'm allowing myself 'several' ciggie breaks and at least one Costa's break en route. And, if the weather's as nice as they're forecasting, I'll not be in too much of a hurry to get there.

my arse (and the bike) should be able to take the journey without taking too much of a pounding. Rode from Harlow to Braintree & back the other Saturday and I could still sit down afterwards!

I hit 50 a few weeks back and I find my main problem with riding now is numb fingers after about ten miles. My arse is like steel so no probs there.

I have an arse made of rhino hide. 20 odd years of cycling to work every day until earlier this year made sure of that....
