Newbie buys Bike
Hi guys,

I'm about to inherit a Lady dax from my father in law.

I intend to restore it using original parts where I can.

The bike has been in the FIL's shed for a few years and brought out to give my kids a ride on occasionally so I know it runs.

Are there any tips to start with?

Are there any local clubs or meets - I'm in Essex?

And lastly its a Lady Dax ST70 with the floral seat. The advertising shows a guy sitting on it. Can I ride this being a fully grown middle aged hetro male - or will I need a full face helmet?

Look forward to conversing the site as I restore.......

Nah, riding a Lady Dax is a clear sign you are very confident about your manhood.

Just get it out and give it a full service.
Hard to judge without picturs what the bike needs - if anything.

Thanks Waynus,

Last time I saw it it was running so that's a start!

Its been a long battle to get it - nearly ten years. I still have to get it out of the garden shed so hopefully this weekend!

Ill treat it to some new oil and plugs etc and see from there...

watch this space!

Im Ok with the Lady bit now - I wont call it that unless Im talking to another Dax owner!

I want to wear an open face helmet as thats more inkeeping with the bike!
