Just a thought but have any of you applied for the history of your bike(s)
Easy enough to do just sent them a V888 form, either download one or get one from the Post Office.
Did this for my blue Chaly & this is what came back.
The bike was registered in Falmouth - 1st owner, then it took a trip up north in 1979 to Scarborough - 2nd owner, 3rd owner was from Filey, then it changed hands from 4th to 5th owner, again in Scarborough, then I am the 6th owner.
My intention is to write to the former keepers address's to see if they have any sort of documents eg : old MOTs, bills for work done etc. You never know what might turn up, maybe nothing but if you dont ask, its worth a 1st class stamp anyway me thinks.
