Hello.

I've been a Honda ST70 owner since 1973. My first ST70 was the white version and the tendy flowery seat! I bought it brand new for £169 and it was registered: PBL 59L

I sold that after a couple of years use - regretfully I seem to remember as months after I sold it, we had the mother of all Summers in 1976. So I went and bought another!

This one had the blue frame with the (tendy?!) flowery seat cover (which has through age has ripped at the seams). I used the bike several times during the late 70's, but basically it has been dry stored in my garage since 1979.

I'm now hoping to restore it back to the condition it was in when I first bought it and sell it on as I don't have the license necessary to drive it (years ago it mattered not as Mr plod weren't so hot on this sort of thing).

I'm hoping the information on forum may help me with the restoration.

Thanks for the advice. I did wonder if it was selling "as is" was the best approach but I'm not sure. Although everything is original, as could be expected after so many years storage there are parts on it which are now looking worse for wear. The handle bar bases have some rust pitting and several other bits need attending to. I don't know for sure, but I'd reckon those bits alone would knock the value down considerably.

And tell me about "money buckets" We own a 24 year old Volkswagen T3 Coachbuilt Motorhome and the cost of parts for these vehicles have gone through the roof in the last few years. Anyone and everyone is jumping onto the "VW price band wagon" and stupid people are perpared to pay very silly prices for even the smallest of parts - pushing the prices sky high

We recently moved from Berkshire to North Hampshire - hence the Berkshire registered ST70 I originally owned (PBL 59L).
