Removing and cleaning carburetor
Hello all,

Can anyone give me a step by step on how to remove, clean and re-install the carburetor on a Honda Chaly CF50 ?

ok, i am not responsible if you hose anything whatsoever but here goes.

undo the screw and drain the thing of gas. get out of the way, don't smoke or light any matches. wear old clothes/overalls.

undo the pipes going in and out of carb. flat head screwdriver for this

undo the manifold to carb bolts. m6 they are. take the carb off. look after the bolts you'll need them.

take carb off. undo the carb with the two phillips screws.

separate the body

carefully undo the float and don't damage it.

unscrew the various jets, i think there's two, maybe three.

clean them out until you can see daylight coming through them both through them and the idle jet side holes too don't forget these or you'll have a bike that might start but won't idle.

clean them out with canned air or a very thin piece of copper wire but i don't advise the latter unless it's a last resort. (not a holiday resort either). :D :?

clean the muck out of the float bowl etc.

undo all the surrounding screws, don't forget what one goes were, do a diagram or video yourself if not sure. with the idle mixture setting, turn the screw in and count the number of turns, don't over tighten it or you will damage the seat. write down the number of turns you did, and turn it out by this when reassembling.

spray canned air through all these holes, de gunk them all. take your time doing this.

clean clean clean, spray canned air, if it's really crapped out you will have to use non environmentally carb cleaner or chuck all the bits in an ultrasonic cleaner and leave for an hour.

screw the jets back in, (don't forget to do this).

put all the screws back in, with the idle mixture setting back as it was.

job done, attach your nice shiny clean carb back on the bike, don't overtighten the bolts.

attach the hoses and tighten it all up nicely but not too tight.

job done. :D

ps check youtube for help if you're not sure.
screw the float back in.

attach the float bowl, screw all
