I know from running bigger bikes that you have to be careful with alignment.
It can cause extra stress on the output shaft bearing over time if the chain doesnt wear first....which it should, but.........its a load of grief we can all do without.
Here's wishing everybody a happy christmas for you and yours.

Seasons greetings one and all! hope you're having a good one.
Arny, lets see if I can help with your dilema ---namely chain alignment. If the geometry of your bike was spot on, you would want to bring both sprockets out to give you a clearance at your tyre. In reality its not that critical for sprockets and chains ,it would cause slightly more wear at one side or the other but has to be quite a long way out to be a problem. At a few mm or so your gearbox output shaft bearing would'n't notice, theres more than enough lateral play between sprocket and shaft usually. If you think about it, rear wheel alignment plays a big part in chain alignment,so your first priority is to ensure your rear wheel tracks true to your front. I was a vehicle examiner( MoT M/c's) for a number of years and wheel alignment was something that was required to be checked at Mot. We could not use the simple notches in the swinging arm because they generally were inaccurrate (at least at the time). The correct way would be to use two straight edges held against the wheels, quite straight forward especially if rear tyre is slightly larger, this measures offset and also tracking.(a lot easier to do with bike raised up on a stand etc.)
So check and set wheels first then use straight edge in same manner for sprockets if you want it accurate, but as already said, sprockets are not tightly held and can accommadate some misalignment with only very slightly increased wear.
Most people would adjust wheel to give a min. clearance between tyre and chain and just ride it and not be able to detect any issues in use.
Hope this helps you solve your problem, Cheers!
