Refeshed carb

Well the bike is stripped down now and the frame is waiting for its new coat of candy ruby red paintwork, but I have managed to get the carb back together now after having it vapour blasted and the metal bits replated and it's looking good. Looking forward to day when I can start putting it all back together again.

I've ordered a number of parts from Honda but some things are just not available anymore, one of them being the horn(french model) which sits between the headstock and mudguard. I've searched high and low on the net but so far that pesky horn eludes me. So if anybody knows where I can find one please please let me know.

Looks nice, how much to get it vapoured and plated or did you do it yourself?
Are you painting or powder coating the frame?
I only ask as I have a Blue candy frame ready for paint but as yet not commited to where im going to get it done and how much i should pay.
Be interested to see the results :)

Re: Refeshed carb
Sorry for the delay in replying. Vapour blasting was done by a fellow bike enthusiast in Watford so only charged a fiver. It took ages to find someone in my area who did it. The plating was done by Jackson plating in London. That was a case of trial and error until i found the right people who could a) do the job correctly and b) who would not charge an arm and a leg for the privilage. They replated all the bolts and brackets a little recroming plus I added some bolts from another bike and they did it all for £30 which I thought was fairly good price.

The frame is being sprayed by Roadrash in Leighton Buzzard. I know a lot of people don't like powder coating frames but i would have done it that way had I been able to match the colour as it is a lot cheaper than going for a respray. The frame was a bit dinged up so they are shot blasting it and pulling out all the dents before respaying it. I've used them before to get my RD350lC2 respayed and the results were good so fingers crossed this bike will be the same. Half the battle when doing a restoration is finding the right people to do the jobs - the other is affording it :)
I'll post pics of the results when i get it back.

Re: Refeshed carb
The frame was pretty banged up and I was thinking of replacing it but in the end I had it blasted and most of the dents pulled out before getting it resprayed - so not cheap but end result is not too bad. Being a frenchie the biggest headache now is trying to source a pair of shocks. It looks like I'll have to get a pair of CT70 KO shocks as they seem to be the closest match i can find. The other problems is the left handle bar as the french style should have a little tab on it to house the mirror. cmsnl list the part but the image does not show the tab so not keen on ordering it for that reason. Still can't source a 6v horn either, i've attached an image of what it should look like so if anybody see one please let me know.
