I thought I would ask all of you about the speeds you can reach with your bikes. Please list your model - your top speed - and any mods done to engine or carb - or anywhere else.

My 1970 ST70 - 50 MPH - No mods yet other than a K&N ait filter. Bought her for $1200.00 US and she was in pretty rough shape but 3 weeks of cleaning and pilishing and lubing brought her around to life again.

This is very interesting. At the end we can do an average just for fun!

I took my standard air filter box off and put on an open type K&N air filter and the speed went up from 45MPH or so to over 50MPH right away with just more air. I had to adjust the mixture and idle but that was real easy. Lubing the chain seemed to help a bit also. I've a feeling a lot of them out there are not getting full throttle due to adjustment being not set right on cable. Just my opinion.

That said, I like the stock look of the standard air box and still have it for replacement.

Have fun and dont go too fast ;)
