Dax newbie from Singapore
Hi guys,

am i glad to chance upon this forum. am looking forward to having your help shedding some light on the Dax.

i'm from Singapore where Daxes are so rare, the unofficial count puts it as about 5 units left thats road registered and hence legal. there are supposely 2 more unregistered units.

meaning there's a major lack of dax and minibike info locally.

i read that daxes are manufactured till 93/94.

i recently chanced upon a 92 unit for sale and am really tempted to get it. however this is labelled a CT70 which i read are mildly different. I would prefer a ST70 but a CT70 will do nicely too.

thing is, i met a ST70 owner once many years ago (that was what piped my interest in the dax) and his was a late 70s model. and from my impression, his seems smaller compared to the 92 CT70 which i viewed yesterday. the 92 CT70 seems to have more plastic bits too, such as headlights and speedo cluster etc. my memory is telling me that the ST70 i saw years ago is more 'metallic'?

so my main questions will be:

1. are the earlier models smaller in size, built compared to the 90s models?

2. are parts from the earlier models compatible for the 90s model. am thinking of importing parts to do up the bike

3. are ST70 parts compatible to be used on the CT70 too?

i visited this site which lists the main differences between the various models but nothing was mentioned abt the sizes

looking forward to all your replies ;)

0. Welcome!
1. The CT's are sightly higher (handle bars, forks, rear springs) NT models are +- the same height as the OT. (New Type - Early Type) They look smaller because of the different type of forks. And often, the OT's are lowered to get the lowrider look.
2. Some, not all

As explained above, the ST's have two types New Type (12v, hydraulic fork) and Old Type.
