88cc big bore kit
Anyone fitted a Kitaco 88cc kit to a 70? If so ,what was the performance benefit? The alternative would be a Lifan 110 or 125 engine but that will entail changing all the electrics to 12v. Any comments? VMax

Re: 88cc big bore kit
I like the motoring character of the 88cc a lot more compared to the longer stroke 110cc engines.
In fact, 85cc is my favourite set-up.
If you're looking for the highest speed for the least money, you'll have to go with the Chinese engines.

Setting up a 85/88cc is a less cost-effective way to improve performance.
Mind you need to chance other bits as well: oil pump, carb + intake, preferably clutch (springs, baskets, rollers,... depending on clutch type), cam shaft + valve springs (recommended, not necessary), distribtion chain (recommended, not necessary), Sprockets (recommended, not necessary), Ignition (recommended, not necessary)...
Depending on setup and the kind of parts you wil go from +-40-45mph to 55-65mph.
You will do at least 50mph with just the bore kits installed. Acceleration is the biggest improvement.

Thanks Waynus, Will postpone decision as time is short. Going to the Isle of Man for the Manx GP , and didn't fancy going up the mountain on the ST. Probably take the C90 and look at the options over winter. VMax

Any idea of a good place to buy one of these kits in the UK?
